Becoming operationally efficient starts with an honest assessment of where your team's time and energy actually go, recognition of behavioral patterns that create unnecessary friction, and the development of intentional practices that make space for high-impact, member-focused work.
Residency resources allow your pool to explore:
- Current efficiency patterns and areas of operational friction
- Practical techniques to evaluate and reduce behavioral waste in your team's daily work
- The concept of "white space" and "strategic pause" and how building open, unscheduled time into each day improves outputs
Efficiency Survey
All staff teams may complete a comprehensive efficiency survey beginning in January 2026. Participating pools will receive results and interpretive guidance that highlight where operational friction impacts their work. (Access limited to AGRiP members, only)
Self-Paced Behavioral Efficiency Program
Staff teams can access a structured, 14-week online program that teaches teams how to apply core efficiency concepts, equipping them with skills and techniques to reduce busy work, ease burnout and create space for more thoughtful, strategic work. Allocated complimentary seats are available to all AGRiP member pools. Additional seats may be purchased.
2.5-Day In-Person Workshop
Our 2026 Resident Juliet Funt will lead a 2.5-day workshop tailored to the operational, governance and leadership realities of public entity pools, drawing on practical tools to help attendees develop efficiency mindsets and sustainable practices for their staff teams. The workshop is offered at Staff Institute 2026 in a format similar to our traditional CEO and Senior Staff Institute. Plan ahead for your pool’s executive and senior leaders to attend October 4–6, in Minneapolis, MN.
Additional Supporting Resources
Be sure to read AGRiP eNews every three weeks for ongoing updates and opportunities to improve your pool's operational efficiency.
Webinars, publications and other outreach will be offered throughout the year to help pools maintain focus on this important goal. These resources will help pools apply efficiency gains in meaningful, actionable ways that support members.
As always, our 2026 Resident will attend all conferences to deliver keynote insights and get to know our pooling community.
At the end of the year, we will provide a DIY guidebook that enables your pool to continue internal efficiency rollouts over time.
