Staff Forum 2024 is October 6-8 in San Antonio, TX. Registration is open now for member pools.

QEI Patrons will receive a separate email on or around July 31 with their complimentary registration codes and we ask that you wait until that time to register.
 
Staff Forum provides time for a pool’s staff to connect with each other while building professional networks and skills. This is a great conference for pool teams to strengthen cross-functional knowledge and problem-solving skills required in today’s pooling operations environment.

Monday Opening Keynote: Exploring Pool Culture with AGRiP Resident, Jamie Notter
We’ve always known that pool culture is special, but now we can prove it. AGRiP’s 2024 Resident, Jamie Notter will share insights on pool culture derived from culture assessments conducted as part of AGRiP’s Conscious Culture Residency. Learn where pools fall on the culture continuum, which areas they struggle with, and the areas where they excel. You will also learn practical steps for addressing common culture challenges.

Tuesday Night Closing Event: Lone Star State Private Rodeo and BBQ
Pool members, QEI Patrons, nonmembers and guests who pre-register for this event will join one another to enjoy an authentic, private rodeo and Texas BBQ in the Lone Star State. The evening will include a glimpse into rodeo life with barrel racing, roping and a calf scramble. Attendees will have a chance to learn how to rope like a cowboy or cowgirl and have their picture taken on a bull. Don’t miss this true Texas experience they call the “Greatest Show on Dirt”! Pre-registration required. Fee: $110 for members and $150 for nonmembers.

  • Risks, opportunities and policy considerations related to artificial intelligence and law enforcement

  • Strategic and practical considerations for building your pool talent pipeline with internships

  • Accessing the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program to support pool staff recruitment and retention

  • What property, casualty and disability claims trends and data insights mean to public entity pooling, including how to mitigate risks and how to improve performance

  • Fundamentals of parametric insurance and how it can be used to transfer risk

  • Use cases for how pools can leverage net position to support long-term goals

Guest registration is not allowed for business colleagues who are otherwise eligible to attend the conference. Guests are traveling companions of registered attendees. Guests must be registered to attend meals and are not eligible to participate in educational programming.

Guest meal pricing, set at actual cost of meals, is:

  • Guest Breakfast and Lunch Package – $280

  • Sunday Welcome Reception – $120

  • Tuesday Night Rodeo and BBQ $110 for members, $150 for nonmembers


Cancellations received on or before Sept. 16, 2024, will be assessed a $100 administrative fee. Because AGRiP pays venue and related event expenses based upon projected attendance, refunds will not be given for cancellations received after Sept. 16, 2024 or for no-shows. Location

Staff Forum 2024 is at Grand Hyatt San Antonio River Walk. Do not make your hotel reservations until you have registered for Staff Forum.

After you register, you will immediately be redirected to a link to make hotel reservations. The deadline to reserve a room through the AGRiP hotel block is Sept. 13. You will also receive an email with hotel information. If you make reservations outside this process, AGRiP will be unable to assist you with questions or concerns related to the reservation.
