The Maryland Association of Boards of Education (MABE) has a unique opportunity to join the organization as the deputy director. With the forthcoming retirement of the current deputy director, the successful candidate will spend time working with the incumbent to ensure an orderly transition. The deputy director is a hands-on position administering three pooling entities including the Property Casualty Group Insurance Pool, the Workers’ Compensation Fund and the Pooled OPEB Investment Trust. They will work collaboratively with each of the pool’s boards to ensure their programs are secure, financially solvent, and responsive to member needs. The deputy director will lead all pooling staff and oversee all pooling functions including claims, risk management, underwriting, finance, investments and information technology. The deputy director will also work collaboratively with the MABE executive director to provide and enhance programs and services for all member school systems.
Required documents will be accepted through April 16 and the successful candidate will start about July 1.
