Details: The Association of Washington Cities (AWC) recruiting for the position of Risk Control Coordinator. The purpose of this position is to manage the safety and risk control efforts for the organization.
The successful candidate will have 3-5 years’ experience in a safety or risk management position with an insurance company, risk pool, public agency, or construction company, including having provided on-site risk control risk assessments, facilities inspections, and trainings, and writing technical content for risk-related publications and resources. Candidate should possess extensive working knowledge of current, general, and federal safety and environmental laws, and must be able to quickly learn the Washington Administrative Code and the Revised Code of Washington, as they relate to risk control standards for public entities.
Associates Degree required; a Degree in public administration, insurance, risk management, loss prevention, or related field is preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in occupational safety and health, environmental safety and health, safety environmental management, or a related field desired; experience may be substituted year-to-year for academic achievement. ARM, CLCS, CSP, or CIH designation desired. At least 50% travel, including overnight stays, to visit members and attend conferences and trainings throughout the State will be a primary duty.
