The Public Entity Risk Management Authority (PERMA), located in Palm Desert, CA, is recruiting for the position of General Manager.  PERMA, a Joint Powers Authority (JPA), is made up of 31 public entities, comprised of municipalities (21), transit districts (4), and special districts (6).

Under the policy direction of the Public Entity Risk Management Authority (PERMA) Board of Directors, the General Manager plans, organizes, coordinates and administers all PERMA functions and activities; provides administrative guidance to and supervision of PERMA staff; and fosters cooperative working relationships with its member agencies, vendors and staff.  Facilitates complex decision making; carries out the General Manager's duties specified in the Joint Powers Agreement and other governing documents; and performs related work as assigned.

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to: Bachelor’s degree in insurance, risk management, public administration or related field; and seven years experience in public entity risk management work including three years as a supervisor; and an Associate in Risk Management for Public Entities (ARM-P) designation; and a valid driver’s license.
