Staff Institute 2026, Oct. 4–6 in Minneapolis, features two distinct learning options:
The Residency Experience is a 2.5-day immersive program for pool executives and senior staff, similar to our historical CEO Institute. AGRiP Resident Juliet Funt facilitates the program, teaching a reductive mindset, letting go of legacy systems and practices, and creating more efficient ways of working for your entire team. Participants explore their own leadership priorities and exchange ideas with peers facing similar organizational challenges. Space is limited to 130 attendees.
Open Sessions are for pooling professionals to explore current issues shaping public entity pooling. In a format similar to our traditional Staff Forum, attendees select the topics most relevant to their role and interests through concurrent sessions and roundtable discussions.
Planned topics for Open Sessions
- Redesigning your pool’s website to create a better member experience
- How to provide claims data to help pool members better manage risk
- The unintended consequences of wellness incentives
- Managing hazing risks in public safety organizations
- Rethinking women's health in the workplace
- How to prepare your pool for AI-related workforce changes
- Writing AI coverage for your members
- Considerations in providing claims-made SAM coverage
- Effective interim financial reporting
- Using captives to meet emerging risks and maximize pool funding
- Best practices in reviewing and updating your MOC language
- Ethical decision-making in any (and every) circumstance
- Why systems thinking is critical in your pool role
- And more
