Learn, Connect and Problem-Solve at Governance Conference 2026

Registration is now open for Governance Conference 2026, March 1–4 in Nashville.

This annual learning opportunity brings together pool governing body members and supporting staff. Through candid discussion and real-world examples, attendees gain practical guidance they can apply back home. The conference is also a chance to connect with service providers that support pool governance, operations and member service.

Content is designed for governing body members at any experience level and staff whose functional roles support board work. Planned topics include:

  • Managing multi-year strategic priorities

  • Solving legacy challenges with data integration and insight

  • Cost trends shaping employee benefit programs in 2026

  • Using AI to strengthen cybersecurity risk management

  • Measuring member satisfaction and engagement

  • The impact of obesity and GLP-1 drugs on claims and costs

  • How public entities and pools can access opioid settlement money for risk management

  • Communicating difficult rate increases and coverage changes to members

  • Understanding the impact of rate or pricing decisions over time

  • Using scenarios and stochastic models to ensure funding adequacy

  • Auditing prescription drug costs and preventing pricing fraud

  • How pools make a difference when public employees are severely injured at work

We're excited to share two insightful keynote presentations with practical strategies for pool work:

  • AGRiP’s 2026 Resident, Juliet Funt, will walk through strategies to improve operational efficiency while maintaining a strong member service mindset.

  • Danny Stoian, a longtime American diplomat, will offer ideas for managing different conflict styles in meetings and work teams.

Attendees can participate in one of two optional experiences on Sunday, March 1: in-person Pooling Basics training (members only) or a behind-the-scenes tour of the Ryman Auditorium and the Grand Ole Opry (members and their guests). Our welcome reception on Sunday evening will kick off the conference.

Register today. Secure your spot — registration ends Feb. 6.
