A recent AGRiP survey found that 94 percent of pool executives foresee AI fundamentally transforming pool operations, but only 12 percent understand its full implications. Members tell us they are looking for real-life examples of how AI is being used in pools today.
AGRiP is gathering stories from pools about their AI experiments and implementations to support pool operations and better serve members. Let Steff Weiss know what your pool is doing so together we can better anticipate AI’s impact.
Here are several concrete examples of current AI projects by pools (look at the “resources” section of each linked page):
-
Improved risk management training and guidance: A property/liability pool is using AI to create risk management training course outlines, scripts, avatars, graphics, voiceovers and multilingual delivery. The pool also is using AI to develop recommended policies and other risk management guidance.
-
Underwriting prospect members of a health pool: A health benefits pool deployed AI-enhanced predictive analytics to support underwriting for new members, gaining deeper insight into existing risks and interventions. The pool is closing 10 percent more new business.
-
Chatbot to improve member services: A property/liability and workers’ comp pool is testing a production model of a chatbot, trained on the pool's own data and resources, to help answer member questions.
Human oversight is crucial in each example, ensuring AI-driven processes are accurate, ethical, and retain a focus on leveraging expert human knowledge.
Be sure to share your stories — more examples will help all pools understand the opportunities (and challenges) of AI. Visit our AI resources page to learn more about becoming AI enabled.
