Claims Manager
The Texas Association of Counties is seeking a dynamic Claims Manager to manage and oversee the claims operation for a governmental risk sharing pool providing all lines of coverage to Texas county government pool members. The pool provides the full array of Property & Casualty insurance products as well as unemployment management services to the majority of our Association's 254 county members. The pool has net assets of almost $200 million. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to direct a professional in-house claims staff, as well as oversee third party administrators, providing direct claims services to our members. This will require a person with broad insurance knowledge, an understanding of the principles of self-insurance and an in-depth knowledge of multi-lines claims adjusting. The successful candidate must possess a strong penchant for customer service and possess good written and oral communication skills.
Requirements include a combination of formal education and experience that demonstrates vision and expertise in the area of risk and insurance management, especially in the area of claims adjusting and management. Experience adjusting claims or managing a claims staff for a self-insurance pool is preferred and an AIC and/or ARM designation is desired. This position reports to the Chief Performance Officer and would be responsible for the efficient operation of the IT department. The general requirements are project management skills, experience supervising IT positions, and expertise in Oracle data base applications, Windows-based networks, and Microsoft office applications. Prior experience working in a workers' compensation environment preferred. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and have a proven track record of successful project management preferably in an insurance environment. A Bachelor's degree required.

individual to manage and run a health insurance pool.
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree and five years experience in a management capacity. Effective written and oral communication skills are required. Experience with non-profit associations, County, State, or City government is preferred. The preferred candidate will have working experience in the Health insurance industry, demonstrating an understanding of current healthcare trends, best practices and wellness program initiatives. The position requires a strong understanding of self-funded insurance management, and an ability to maintain effective, strong working relationships with CCAO staff and management, fellow CEBCO employees, and board members and customers.
