Midwest Public Risk (MPR) has created a risk checklist to help their members mitigate cyber risk. The pool is also implementing an online training tool for members to increase their internet safety awareness.
To create the materials, MPR is relying on the Center for Internet Security's Critical Security Controls, which is a recommended set of actions that provide specific and actionable ways to stop today's most pervasive and dangerous cyber-attacks. The controls were created with local governments in mind and are available free to local entities.
