Pool - Regular Membership
Regular Membership may be granted to intergovernmental risk pools (IRP's) that provide alternative risk financing/transfer mechanisms to public entities for specific risks that are underwritten with contributions (premiums), and that share losses and expenses in agreed ratios. "IRP's include but are not limited to pools, joint powers authorities, associations, agencies and trusts; and to those captives, risk retention groups, or joint purchasing groups/cooperatives that have received a ruling from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service that their income is excludible from gross income under the Internal Revenue Code".
In individual states where there is a statutory or regulatory requirement that public entities form a mutual or reciprocal insurance company in order to come together for risk financing/transfer purposes, then those entities so organized may be Regular Members. Where there is no statutory or regulatory requirement, entities that elect to be organized as a mutual or reciprocal insurance company may not be Regular Members. Such groups may be eligible for Affiliate Membership (see below).
Each Regular Member shall appoint a Designated Representative who shall vote on behalf of the Regular Member. Each Regular Member is entitled to a single vote on all matters set forth in the Association Bylaws through its "Designated Representative". The Designated Representative shall represent the sole interests of the Regular Member.
Individual staff/board members of the IRP may become Individual
Pool Associate Members. However, only the Designated Representative
shall have the right to cast votes on behalf of the Regular Member

Pool - Affiliate Membership
Affiliate Membership may be granted to those organizations not otherwise eligible for Regular Membership that nevertheless enhance and advance the purposes and objectives of intergovernmental pooling as determined by the Association Board of Directors. Affiliate Members may include, but are not necessarily limited to voluntarily organized mutual or reciprocal insurance companies, or captives, risk retention groups or joint purchasing groups/cooperatives that have not received a tax exemption Ruling from the Internal Revenue Service, OR members of organizations choosing to join through an Allied member (such as CAJPA member pools). Companies that provide services to pools including, but not limited to, third party administrators, brokers, consultants and insurers do not qualify for Affiliate Membership. Affiliate Members shall not have voting rights but shall have all other rights granted to members.
Individual staff/board members of Pool-Regular and Pool-Affiliate
members may become *Individual Pool Associate Members.

Quality Education Initiative
Patron
The QEI is a partnership between AGRiP and
its loyal Partner-Members. It is designed to provide the highest
caliber of speakers and discussion leaders available to maximize
the educational benefits for members and those in attendance at
major AGRiP educational functions.
Because the highest-level speakers are often beyond
the reach of the AGRiP budget, a restricted account is being established
for funds that will augment the AGRiP budget. These monies will
be used exclusively for direct expenses associated with speakers/educational
programs and will not be used for any other purpose.
