The 2018 Fall Educational Forum is Sept. 30-Oct. 3 in Portland, Ore, at the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront.

The Fall Forum offers role-specific information for public entity pooling staff in areas of claims and litigation management, marketing and member services, and reinsurance and capital management.

A preliminary schedule is available and will be updated daily as sessions are confirmed and additional sessions are scheduled.

Other useful information:

Attendees can register for one or more of these programs. There is no additional fee for these programs.

First-Time Attendee Breakfast: Join AGRiP for a brief orientation to the Fall Forum, AGRiP services and activities from 7-8:15 a.m., Monday, Oct. 1. Network with other newcomers and the AGRiP Board of Directors. Learn how to make the most of your AGRiP membership and your time at the conference. This conversational breakfast will be useful to pool attendees, QEI Patrons, and Partners.

Pooling Basics: If you are new to public entity pooling, participate in Pooling Basics from noon-6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 30. Learn about fundamental pooling functions and goals, and typical pooling operations.

Pooling Basics is a comprehensive review of all key operational and governance areas including coverage, claims, underwriting, reinsurance, financial oversight, risk management, and member services. Pooling Basics faculty are industry practitioners who tailor discussions to meet attendee interests, and are available to address your specific questions.

$ource Game: The $ource Game is a pool management simulation game. Teams will run a fictitious pool, making business decisions based upon dynamic changes and challenges presented along the way. Participants will meet in three one-hour pre-conference phone calls, and have three brief meetings during the Fall Forum.

In addition to being a great learning opportunity, the $ource Game is also a fun way to meet people from other pools. The $ource Game is facilitated by expert resources from Willis Towers Watson.

Registration received through midnight, Sunday, Sept. 9, is $725 for AGRiP members and $1,045 for non-members.

For cancellation and substitution information, visit AGRiP’s Conference Registration Policy.

A block of rooms is reserved for AGRiP attendees at the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront. You should not make hotel reservations until you have registered to attend the conference.

After you register for the conference, you will receive a confirmation email with links to make hotel reservations in the AGRiP block. Room reservations made directly will be outside AGRiP’s room block and we will not be able to assist you with changes, fees, or other questions.

Room rates start at $209 per night, plus tax and service fees. Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The room block rates are available until Aug. 31, or until all rooms in the block have been reserved.

AGRiP never solicits hotel reservations directly via email or phone calls, and we do not employ third-party housing services. If you receive any outreach regarding hotel reservations other than the link provided in response to your conference registration, it is a scam and you should not respond.
