Colorado Intergovernmental Risk Sharing Agency (CIRSA) has an opening for a Training and Events Specialist in our home office located in Denver, Colorado.  CIRSA is the municipal insurance pool of Colorado providing property/liability and workers’ compensation coverages and services to communities across the state. 

The Training and Events Specialist position is responsible for managing all logistics associated with our safety and health events, such as training courses, seminars, workshops, and conferences, registrations, certificate development, speaker logistics, etc. The position will travel regularly to emcee/proctor most or all of the aforementioned events. The position will oversee, coordinate with the vendor and liaison with member (client) staff for all online training programs. The position will report to the Loss Control Manager as well as work with and have line authority to the Training Supervisor. 

The ideal candidate will have a continuous improvement mindset, must be a self-starter, capable of managing multiple projects and tasks contiguously. The candidate must have strong public speaking skills with the ability to present information or training programs to large audiences. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word are required. A background in risk management with public sector experience is desired.

Other duties may include managing and formatting various departmental publications, developing, managing, and updating various spreadsheets, tracking programs and/or software programs, participating in safety videos, coordinating projects with CDOT (Colorado Department of Transportation) and OCPO (Operator Certification Program Office), providing customer service and support to members (clients), etc.

Regular travel is required throughout the state of Colorado with frequent overnight stays.  Travel is estimated at fifty nights per year and will vary annually.  Travel is conducted year-round in varying weather conditions including snow, ice, etc. A CIRSA-Owned vehicle will be available for travel periods.

A bachelor’s degree in a related or complementary field is desired. Events planning experience desired. Online training management experience desired. Risk management/safety experience desired.  Salary DOQ.
