Federal lawmakers passed a $4.5 billion spending measure Dec. 21, temporarily funding several programs including the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
Originally set to expire Sept. 30, the NFIP was first extended to Dec. 8. In November, the House approved the 21st Century Flood Reform Act to reauthorize the NFIP. The Senate did not act on the measure, prompting a second extension of the program until Dec. 22.
This third extension now pushes a decision on the NFIP to Jan. 19. AGRiP will continue to monitor the progress.
