AGRiP and the Self-Insurance Institute of America (SIIA) are considering a co-hosted, one-day forum to discuss state regulatory shifts and resulting implications on self-insured entities, including public and private self-insured groups.
Preliminary conversation between SIIA and AGRiP members suggest shared awareness about state regulatory environments, including things like changeover in the top regulatory positions, ability to educate insurance commissioners and other regulatory bodies about self-insurance, the potential that an unsuccessful self-insured group might cast a shadow on all other groups in the state, and methods to build successful and ongoing regulatory relationships.
The conversation opportunity is intended to explore issues of common concern among AGRiP and SIIA members, and potential solutions or responses. No formal presentations are planned; participants will share perspectives and insights in a facilitated discussion and in small groups.
A tentative date of July 20 has been established, pending interest. Email Ann Gergen with suggestions, questions, or interest to attend.
