Citizen's guide to Robert's Rules of Order

Pools that provide training and support to public entity meeting process may wish to review a new, free download resource, "Citizen's Guide to Effective Public Meetings."

The guide is written to support citizen engagement in local government in the state of Washington, using the example of a mayor and city council. It presents an at-a-glance reference tool for understanding Robert's Rules of Order in any public entity setting. It is written in plain English and could be a helpful guidepost to public entity meeting engagement training efforts.

The pro bono guide was prepared by frequent AGRiP presenter and consulting parliamentarian Ann Macfarlane of Jurassic Parliament and several of her colleagues. Versions for Oregon and Nebraska are in preparation. Contact Macfarlane if you would like to partner in creating a similar guide for your state.
